Back to Company Profile

Our motto is simple, safety firstĀ and dedication is second to none.

Civil Contractors FederationGroundswell Australia gives prime focus to ensuring the safety of our workers and our clients. We believe everyone is entitled to a safe healthy workplace. And we make it our business to provide this through:

  • Technical integrity of all plant and equipment
  • Hazard audits on-site and in-house
  • Continual updating of our safety program
  • Comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Manual based on Australian best practice standards (including AS 4801, AS 9001 and AS 14001)

Providing civil solutions can involve hazardous work. We know this. And we ensure that every staff member and contractor is fully safety trained and accepting of their personal responsibility.

Groundswell Australia is a fully registered member of the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF). This membership involves regular updates of OH&S, Quality management and Environmental practices.

We make safety our way of life and work.

Groundswell Australia recognises its legal and moral responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors, customers and visitors. This commitment extends to ensuring that our organisations operations do not place the local community at risk of injury, illness or property damage, in all its operation and functions including those situations where employees are required to work at different sites.

RoadsignsIn order to maintain our responsibility, we are a registered member of the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) and are currently implementing measures as guided by their Contractor Management System (CCF-IMS) incorporating OH&S, quality and environment. Through this membership we are constantly being updated of any new changes to the Victorian Health & Safety Act as well as providing us with regular networking opportunities and briefing sessions to actively be involved with issues relating to our industry.

Together we have developed a manual that provides a framework for the management of Occupational Health & Safety, including Quality and Environmental systems within our business. It has been modeled on AS 4801, AS 9001 and AS 14001 respectively and has been developed to comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

At Groundswell Australia we are aware of our specific obligations and they include:

  • Providing and maintaining safe items of plant and equipment.
  • Arranging safe systems of work in connection with plant and substances e.g. Use of chemicals and dust. Headwear, eyewear, gloves, full body protective clothing, breathing masks, safety clothing, signage, boundary markers; all form part of the basic equipment that must be worn or shown, to ensure not only my safety, but that of my employee/s and the general public.
  • Providing a safe working environment, including noise and vibration levels.
  • Providing adequate information on hazards, as well as instruction, training and supervision to employees, to enable them to work safely.
  • Monitor health of employees.
